TYPES OF CLOUD COMPUTING SERVICES AND HOW THEY HELP MODERN BUSINESSES

The way cloud computing is growing there are many career opportunities as well so doing cloud computing courses is just the right time, cloud computing training will prepare me to work as a cloud professional. There are so many cloud courses available and the cloud computing course fees are also not too high. A cloud can be public or private, the basic difference is that a public cloud simply sells its services to anyone over the internet whereas a private cloud is a proprietary network and it supplies its services to few people and there are certain access and permissions settings. Its infrastructure includes both hardware and software components, it is on-demand computing.

WORKING

To understand it simply, it works by enabling client devices to access data and various applications on the cloud through the internet from physical servers, databases and computers which are far away. The Internet network connects the front end with the back end which stores data accessed by the front end. There is a central server which manages connectivity between the front end and back end. Central servers manage the connectivity between different client devices and cloud servers by using software and middleware. Cloud computing relies on virtualization and automation technologies.

TYPES OF CLOUD COMPUTING

There are three types of cloud computing services as we have mentioned in the introduction itself, now let us see in detail what they are. 1. IaaS: Amazon web services ( AWS) is one such service provider, it supplies virtual server instances and storage, and it also supplies application programming interfaces (APIs). Users can shift workloads to a virtual machine (VM). Users are given storage capacity that they can manage on their own, they can start, stop, access and configure the VM and storage as they want. IaaS service providers offer different instances as per the need or use of the user, ranging from small, medium, large, extra large and memory. Instances are customized according to the workloads. For business models, this cloud computing service is closest to the remote data centre. 2. PaaS: Development tools are hosted on the cloud infrastructure and are used by the users over the internet through APIs, web portals or gateway software. It is used for general software development and few service providers host the software after it is developed. Few PaaS products are salesforce’s lighting platform, AWS elastic beanstalk and google app engine. 3. SaaS: It is a distribution model delivering software applications over the internet, also called web services. SaaS services can be used by users from anywhere all they need is a computer or mobile with an internet connection. Users get access to application software and databases. Microsoft 365 is one such example.

BENEFITS TO MODERN BUSINESS: Cloud computing has been there for quite some time and now it is proving to be very beneficial for businesses of varied sizes, its characteristics are proving to be helpful as far as IT operations are concerned.

REDUCTION IN CAPITAL COST : It reduces the capital cost of organisations as they don’t need to buy so much massive equipment by using cloud services. On one hand, their capital expenditure is reduced which they had to if there were no cloud services, secondly, this equipment and infrastructure had to be maintained and a huge IT team was needed for their operation. So not only capital expenditure is reduced but operational costs are minimised as well. Downtime cost is also reduced as there is no downtime in cloud computing. Looking at the benefits and the way cloud computing is being liked by all businesses, the future looks bright and it is probably the best time to join the cloud computing industry as a professional. All you need is to do cloud computing training by enrolling in various cloud computing courses, there are different types of cloud courses available and the cloud computing course fees are not too high as well.

DATA AND WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT : Storing data in the cloud has various benefits and one benefit is that you can access it from anywhere anytime, and you need not carry any physical device for that. For big enterprises, the entire workload of data management and storage is shifted and they focus on other issues, they need not worry about data storage and its safety.

CONTINUITY OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS: Enterprises today have a lot of concerns about data loss, storing in the cloud gives them a guarantee that users can always access their data from any device from any location. And they are not worried about data loss either. Also in case of a power outage or any other mishap data lost is recovered quite fast.
